I’m curious how his recruiting skills get used
There’s some luck here—some of these assistants were cut loose and we picked them up. We had relationships.Does this mean we are actually spending more money to improve the program?
I'm glad to hear it. But it makes me wonder ... is this Geoff calling the shots (and why didn't he make these decisions sooner?) or someone else? This is awesome. We have brought in a ton of experience as assistants and consultants. This should easily be the best coached team in Collin's tenure.

A lot of these hires are people that the staff have worked with before—some of whom Collins has worked with. One is a Long contact. If it’s being forced on Collins, it’s an big coincidence that the analysts share so much work history with the staff.I'm glad to hear it. I don't doubt that for many of the hires, but the one exception might be Chip Long. The two have radically different approaches in relating to players, and Long was hired in the wake of Collins being called on the carpet by Stansbury. Hevesy, however, worked with Collins at MSU.A lot of these hires are people that the staff have worked with before—some of whom Collins has worked with. One is a Long contact. When cgc was hired he spent his $ on his group, but did not have $ to keep Andy Mac on even though he stayed thru signing day. He felt he would get a contract (lots of experience, 3 year MTSU head coach , knows players, knows recruiting). Tstan let cgc quickly hire """his""" guys.I'm glad to hear it. This was my first thought as well. Second thought "I don't give a crap" Whatever it takes to help this team win this year. We come up with some kind of a winning coach formula that works, I am OK creating a brand new coaching model. what ever works, I dont care what it looks like.Same thought.
I think , maybe, that TStan has (finally) figured out that CGC is "big picture" guy, but not much on the details that are so crucial getting wins for the program. This was my first thought as well. 2 get back coaches per coach? I will get behind it.
QB Sneak every play if it lets us win. I just dont care. I just want to win
