I can't imagine any scenario where he would leave the NFL after 13 or 14 years to come to GT as a DL coach. Or am I reading it wrong (I mentally placed a comma after Smith and a comma after Rams)? Do you mean that he is DL coach in LA and you are proposing him as DC here? I like that idea; even if it is a wild pipe dream.

Yes, that is what I meant. He is a DL coach for LA.

Wouldn't mind it at all. Ranked 10th in the nation in total defense and #55 in DFEI.

Also need to make sure whomever we hire for DC can also retain the current defensive staff. Crucial in hanging onto current players and recruits.
