Lol would be great if it were a BA. BS means they still have to take bull**** tough classes.

I'd make them take the calculus although I'm not sure why. Perhaps on the basis of the theory "that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger" as put forth by Nietzsche. Or the "Sometimes I feel like I've been tied to the Whipping post" mindset as written and voiced by G. Allman out of Macon, Ga. After all, have anyone of you ever met anyone of real substance who hadn't mastered at least 6 quarters or 4 semesters of alchemy....er, I mean calculus.

All Majors at GT have the same " core" class requirements. GT could add a trash collection major. It would still be harder than hell. Quit already. If your not serious about school , you will not survive at GT. GT will never get the dumb *** , I'm going to the league in 3 years guys . GT is academics first . it is what it is.

Now if we could only get a Sports Management or Sports Technology degree ....... Both LONG OVERDUE
It would still be harder than hell. Every student at GT has to take the " stem" core classes. Until that changes , dumbass players are not coming here. Other schools on our schedule have players that are dumber than hell. pushed thru crap public schools, not able to read at the 5th grade level... GT is not going to recruit those guys, they might be great kids, but they have zero chance of staying eligible here and have no desire to give the effort.

Mac, you're right that the dumb*** 3 year NFL minded player isn't going to be enthralled. But adding majors that mean something broadens the field for those SAs who DO value an education and 4 versus 40 :)

Correct. Im all for more Majors. Just don't want folks to think that its going to magically open the flood gates for the so called " 5 stars". Most of those guys have zero interest in academics. They will either be in the nfl or working at the rec dept.

In the new West Campus Dining Commons (to be built near 8th & McMillan streets) GT Music will have state of the art rehearsal facilities. It'll be awesome.

One of the ancillary benefits of this program is it will attract major recording artist/producers looking to use facilities if other places are booked, or if they're looking for a situation other studios can't provide (space reasons, resources, etc.), or if they want to utilize the knowledge of students in the program. GT would be wise to let those kinds of artists/producers use the facilities if schedule permits.

Not a better marketing opportunity than having a major artist/producer tweet or talk about GT while in production. Similar to when NFL stars come to GT to use our facilities and put the GT brand out there. Except we all know how athletes, especially the young ones, get star struck by pop entertainers.

Looks like the MS and PhD programs are available now. I can't find when it goes into effect for incoming freshmen undergrads? Now?

If it was just approved, then my guess would be that it becomes an official degree "on the books" at the start of our next Academic Year, which begins in Summer semester.
