Not sure, but probably after an incident like (if not actually that incident) where the rats chased the tiger and ripped his tail off.

Actually, when they injured the kid from the Citadel wearing their mascot outfit.

Really pathetic days at GT. Poor, poor sportsmanship.

Doom and gloom were usually the forecast for game days at GF. Like dark clouds covered us every gameday.

I don't remember that incident. We played The Citadel in '78, '82, '84, and '87, all within the time range when the rats may have been banned from the field, but I would guess '78 or '82.
