New ACC Schedule Format Reveal

Clemson and Duke. Clemson has owned for for past 5 years, somehow people think this will last forever. This schedule is stupid. We should play Clemson every year. They are 2 hours away.

Uhhh Clemson has owned us for a decade, not withstanding a blip in 2014 when Watson went down with injury. That defense dominated the option (Jimmys and Joes + good blitzes) and, well it was pretty easy to beat a GC coached team. I will laugh if Dabo’s hubris and inability to adapt to the changing landscape causes them to fall from the pinacle of CFB.

Georgia Tech fans will literally die for an invite to the Ford Motor Companies Quick Lane Bowl against Toledo and demand we play Clemson every year. It makes no sense. If you really care about an ESPN+ mid-December bowl game, dropping Clemson last year would have gotten us there.

You beat me to it. That was my first thought when I read it. And why only a 7 year model? Could it be we have 7 years to win the conference and if we do, the B1G is gonna help with coats at that point?

We play another tough schedule in 24 w FSU in Ireland and ND in benz and uga away.

THE GOOD
WE DO NOT HAVE ANY LONG TRAVEL WEST COAST GAMES . The early game in ireland can have extra days for travel.

Our team is moving from mostly underclassmen to being upperclassmen

If we survive NIL on offense and find a DE, LB, LB we should be a fun team to watch.

24 FSU without Travis and the top Draft wr is doable.

No 24 Clemson is a good thing.

All the talk about 2028 assumes the conferences workout. Win baby

Agreed. Regardless if we have not won many games against them over the past decade, l want to play them every year.

My take on it is positive in the long run. And I’m typically a negative person here.

2024 will be rough for a couple reasons:

1) Scheduling and

2) Season ticket sales (big time IMO) - we play only 5 home games. Calling FSU and ND home games is bull****.

But those are sins of the past and 2025+ looks better.

How many consecutive years have we played Clemson and Virginia? That stops next year.

Technically, we've played uva for 3 years straight this year since we didn't play in 2020.
If you want to put the asterisk there, and throw out 2020 as an anomaly, then we've played for 40 years straight (no 2020) since 1982.
Played a handful of times before '82.

Clemson every year since 1983, and a good number sporadically before that.

If our administration and Clemson's think the game is worth playing, we should schedule it as out of conference. Either go divisions and have rotating cross division, or do rotating games across the conference.

If true, J Batt truly doesn't get it. You have to play hardball with the Tobacco Road mafia. You don't just bend over and take it. What did he get for giving the league "flexibility"

I actually though we might have turned down a permanent opponent. Clemson will be back. They recruit too well. Don't mind playing them, but everyone should have that chance too.

Clemson or FSU should be our permanent opponent. Duke and UNC have THREE. Us and Louisville have none. This conference hates us. Also our home slate next year sucks, Duke, Miami, NC State, VMI and Ga. State.
