I would assume he may have some of the allure of a Deion given his track record and Super Bowl wins. I think looking back, Brady had a LOT to do with those wins, as Belichick was never the successful without him. Can he get players with the idea of getting them "pro ready"? Maybe. I just can't imagine him dealing with college kids. How does he handle the academic commitment for the players (I know, it's uNC, so likely doesn't really matter... ;):p). What does he do when Butch McRae is is homesick or his girlfriend gets pregnant? I think is just an opportunity to get his kid a job and I don't think it will end well. All of which is fine by me. :gt::buzz::)

But didn't we learn last time around that Head Coach in Waiting is simply a title and not a commitment to him long term? When that was the fad, how many of them were actually the next HC when the current guy stepped down? Seems like most of them moved to other jobs at other schools instead of waiting.
It does make you wonder how good of a coach is Belicick's son? Is he not good enough to get the UNC job on his own?

The handoff to his son has split the UNC board.
I’m not sure about this, but this guy is saying that board dysfunction scared off the expected targets

I love that his preferred choice in Monken. UNC would basically be going down the CPJ rabbit hole. I actually would really hate for them to hire Monken.
