It feels like Ok. State has been looking for a reason for a while. Gundy is a good football coach who has done quite well in adapting to the ever-changing landscape. He has tremendous numbers at a #2 state school. I just don’t get it….

I'd have told them to piss up a rope. If they fire him, he takes his money and is a hot commodity somewhere else with that winning record. Double up the money.

I imagine the only reason people are throwing around his name for WVU is because he’s originally from West Virginia (the state, not the school).

Here's CBS on Gundy. It's still "according to reports", but so far the news is a restructured contract.

Not many coaches would allow their buyout too get cut, but with a restructured contract, that's what he probably got in addition to a salary cut

But he will be in Utah right? And he left NM to get there…

He's going home. He played high school around an hour away from Logan. It's probably his last stop and that can always be a dream job for a coach (if it works out of course).
I have a personal connection with "the last stop" theme and going close to where you grew up so understand where he's coming from.
I actually liked him as a coach in the ACC. Best thing is we likely won't see him too often. And. . . I don't think I could handle Utah winters (though maybe one of these days we'll go ski there).
