NCAA Golf Regionals

Georgia Tech is going west to the Rancho Santa Fe regional in California. Tech is the #2 seed in the regional, but there are some really good teams in there, including UGA. Top 5 in each regional progress to the NCAA tournament. I'm just worried about the travel out west when we could be playing in the Chapel Hill regional. There are a few teams there that need to travel cross-country (Tech, Ugag, UVA, East Tennessee State, Ole Miss and Eastern Kentucky).

The regionals will played starting next Thursday for 3 days and 54 holes. Good luck to the Jackets!

Tech tends to do well in these types of tournaments. It's the finals where the troubles start.

Looks like the back 9 on that track is a bear!!!!!!!!!! Team was right there until the turn, it's going to be interesting to see how the teams just completing the front nine fare of the back this afternoon!

It's the weather, I think. Lots of plus scores today.. It doesn't get any better tomorrow. Forecast is for rain. All we need is to finish in the top 5 of the regional after 3 rounds.

Tech has finished with a score for 10 over par and is currently in 8th place with a chance to climb a bit more while other teams try to finish.

Both Ollie and Anders had off days. Need to focus tomorrow and climb up the table. Go Jackets!

Took at look at the board, only one team still on the course. The scores did rise on the back 9, Tech's is good position as long as they play like they can. Ollie and Anders will not have back to back bad days! Tech in 8th but just 7 shots out of 3rd, 9 shots out of 2nd so it's well within their reach.

Up to 4th now, with 2 strokes over 5th place. Still plenty to play for. Meh.. UGAg is just above us and looks like they will qualify too. They have shot 3 under, while Tech as four over par.

Ollie has 3 birdies in the last 4 holes! He has 2 more to play. Lets go! 3 over par for today now. Solidifying 4th place. Wichita State has finished at 3 strokes more than Tech in 6th place.

Albertson birdies and Tech is at +2 for the day in 4th place with a 2 shot lead over 5th place, and a 4 shot lead over 6th place.

On to the NCAA Championship!!!! Lot of hear and grit shown by the team today, they were 7 over and in danger of missing the number but they got their act together and tore up the last 5 holes! Ollie and Anders have combined for 6 birdies in their last 6 holes!
