Over the years I have found the best way to induce rain wherever I am going is to leave my umbrella, poncho, rain jacket. etc. either at home or locked safely away in the trunk of my car a mile or two from where I am at. The works almost 100% of the time. :)
I bought a "new" umbrella for Rd1 at Quail Hollow this year. Carried that sucker around for 8hrs... opened it once... just to see exactly how it 'worked' :)

Ok... weather gurus. What are the odds today's action in Atlanta goes uninterrupted from 1000am until final pitch of Tech's game?
Forecasts are all over the place. Roughly, there’s about a one-in-six shot of no rain. It looks mostly popup showers, with more rain likely in the later hours.

It’s like roulette though—really chaotic forecast.

FYI for those going to the games, they have some new baseball focused merch in the football practice facility. I grabbed a polo with baseball buzz on it. They were already down to S and XL in a bunch of the stuff though and that was BEFORE the game yesterday.

I noticed our 2 right fielders seemed to be having a ball yesterday playing infield for the last 2 innings. Alex at 2B and Will at SS. Dont know if Will has the range, or the arm to play as a regular at short but he sure looks a lot more comfortable in the infield. Guessing he will play 2nd next season.
Baseball just comes easy for Alex and he can play OF and right side of infield very well. Would love to have him back next year but probably wont happen. He came out of his slump at just the right time.

Yeah, Will is a strange case. He didn't look particularly good at 2B last year either (and he's obviously not an outfielder). I get the feeling he feels more comfortable on the left side of the diamond. They do have him take grounders at short in warmups. I can't see him there next year though. Maybe 3B depending on what happens with the portal. 2B would be the fallback plan. Just no more outfield please.

Depends on which MLB draft projection you use but Alex looks like he will go in first three rounds. He will not be back if drafted that high. Wouldn't have much more to prove if he came back.

Hey @DecaturJacket ...from a pitching matchup perspective, who do I want to see us matchup with in tonight's game? I assume Oklahoma is deeper... so the answer is the Citadel? Hard for me to not root for Citadel regardless, really.
You weren’t asking me, but looks like Oklahoma is pitching off whereas Citadel is throwing their ace (2.62 ERA). Oklahoma’s “ace” isn’t that much better than the guy they have throwing now or Citadel’s #2 (all have ERAs between 4-5), so not a huge difference either way.

Biggest thing is a close game where both have to use their top bullpen arms.

I noticed yesterday Dee was not announced pregame as being on the roster and wasn’t In the dugout. He was on the team for the Duke series so my guess is he hit the portal.

Not exactly but it would appear that Mercer could have shown just as well as some of the others that faltered on day 1 if given the opportunity.
Continuing to have these debates based on tournament results is kind of a pointless exercise imo. The sample size is so small and any bubble team is capable of getting hot or a top seed going cold at the wrong time.

Kentucky could go on a run to Omaha and I’d still say they didn’t belong in the field in the first place. On the flip side had Mercer made it and then gone 0-2 I still would’ve said they should’ve been there.

Mercer got snubbed. No question. ...but yesterday's results don't make MORE of a case, though. Those were still upsets... among the teams that Mercer would have replaced in the field... only 1 lost, yesterday (Troy). Kentucky, Texas St & Liberty all won.

I haven't had a chance to do my usual research, but from what I've seen/read Oklahoma has a couple of guys who have great stuff, but haven't really lived up to the billing this season, especially down the stretch. It looks like they may be throwing their #3 though. I wanna say Mercurius is the coming into the season that was supposed to be the guy. I think this is Citadel's main guy and it's a pretty steep drop off.

So yeah, I think we'd much rather see Citadel for a lot of reasons.

I believe the rosters get trimmed for the post season and number of people allowed in the dugout get limited. Not saying that is the case but another reason he could be out of the dugout.

The Citadel vs Oklahoma on ESPNU right now. 1-1 bottom of the 3rd.
I was just about to say citadel needs to get to work… Okie P has only thrown 33 thru 3 innings.
Big solo shot, but only on second pitch!
Need to get to Okie pen!
Citadel P has thrown 53 thru 3.
