Its the reality of the new world. Philo showed some good things tonight on a national stage. Other teams that need a QB are going to be giving him a call with a number in mind to gauge his interest. If he knows he is QB2 next year but can be QB1 elsewhere with some extra cash, he is going to consider it. I doubt Pyron stays after this season so you are possibly looking at King being QB1 coming off of an injury with basically true freshmen or an ok portal QB backing him up. Then King is gone. I would personally just jump to the future now with Philo and lock him up for 3-4 years.
He showed some good things but without our defense the offense only scored 14 points . King clearly gives us a better chance to win . But I think Buster has a lock on philo .

Awesome win for the seniors!!! Philo is the real deal. My one complaint is he seems to put a little too much mustard on the 10 yard passes... Hawes drops a pass in his facemask cuz of too much zip.... Eric Singleton can't pull in a TD and it ricochets to a turnover in the end zone (which fortunately we got right back)... There was a pass or two in the VT game where we could have sustained some drives if he just took just a touch off on those short passes... That or our receivers need more stickum on their gloves.
If I can be fair that will come with maturity, but I'd rather have the zip than not

We were running a splitzone concept that just wasn't working.
The majority of the runs were counter. They were bringing the motion end to seal the backside since teams have just been shooting the backside and getting into the backfield. I'll have to watch the game again, but from a first look there was little zone ran this game.

That game was way closer that it should have been,
The two qb thing is only going to get us so far, when teams know what we're going to do when King is playing .
Philo is the real deal. Gotta keep him healthy for next week

A little worried about our injuries going into UGA, were really really banged up

Overall a good team win, but too close for comfort

Getto watch the replay this morning, question is why did they keep adding 1 second to the clock twice?
I was watching at home (wanted to go but got sick this week unfortunately). The Bobby Dodd clock operator, who is a GT employee, was very liberal with clock stoppages on the final NCST drive with regards to when passes officially fell incomplete or players ran out of bounds. That is fairly standard home cooking in any college football game you watch. We weren’t able to sneak it by the official though.

King looks like he’s done except for maybe GL situations. He still has his legs. It’s painful to see him run off the field after a big hit, though.

I think Philo came of age last night. His tentative runs became authoritative. He was making more catchable throws at the end. His team leadership really blew up on that last drive. Guys were making plays for him. I think we’re OK.
