We were extremely lucky to have gotten big CJ. He will always be talked about when it comes to greatest WRs of all time. He really changed the way people looked at receivers in the NFL after Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco had pretty much turned it into a circus.

I still say Calvin is the greatest WR to ever step on a field, and probably one of the top 5-10 players the NFL has ever seen. It's not his fault he was stuck on the Lions (a similar problem for Barry Sanders, the best RB I've ever seen...yet they were both loyal to that dumpster fire franchise), whereas Jerry Rice got to play for a legitimately great franchise (at the time), with good ownership and management, one of the most innovative coaches of all time, and two consecutive HoFers at QB pitching it to him. Give Megatron any of those advantages and he looks even better than he already does.

Calvin was taken number 2 in the NFL draft, and should have been number 1 (Jamarcus Russell? Really?).

With Thomas on deck, we could have been Wide Receiver U. The QB's would have followed. and then the OT's and TEs. We just needed the right coach, and Gailey was a conservative pound it out guy. So we fired him. Good move.

Who did the athletic board hire? The coach with the fewest attempted passes in FBS.

Opportunity lost. The result: barely over .500 against FBS teams for the last 7 years. Blame that ***** Clough.

Screw the academic excuse. Bad leadership has been the problem. Hopefully Stansbury will take us forward. But still, opportunity lost.
