Scored 20 runs today and got eliminated, I don’t recall Tech pitching struggling this much, what happened this year ?

Hate to see the run end, but it was indeed a valiant effort. Archer with a complete game shutout in the first game (WHA!!!?), and multiple comebacks in the second game gave us a chance to pull it off in the end--even a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 11th, but it still wasn't enough. They played hard and didn't quit. Its a shame they just didn't have the pitching to keep Vandy off the scoreboard. Maybe next year.

Vandy again living right, 40% of their wins were by 3 runs or less.

And just to be consistent, it was dumb we were the home team. 🤪

Great effort by team. Proud of them.

Offense is unbelievable and largely coming back.

Pitching, well, needs improvement.
Sums it up nicely. Great to see some of the hitters who had scuffled a bit mid-season end strong (e.g Compton, Reid,...). Really showed a lot of fight. Good to see Hall was healthy enough to play (never did hear what his injury was?) But he looked overmatched in most of his at-bats (no doubt rusty). Also really good to see Archer finish strong after struggling the last few starts - he gave us a big boost going into last night's game.
Pitching depth (in this one) and defense (in first Vandy game) was the killer but pretty consistent with the whole season in the big picture - so in line with expectations. Best of luck to those draft eligible and playing summer ball... We'll hope to see some better arms show up this Fall... It's a wrap!

Between walks and HBPitch, we averaged 6.6 freebies per 9 innings. Team E.R.A. was over 5.7, Errors approx. 1.3 p.g., WP 1.27 per game. GT had 20 errors from the 3B position alone. Not proposing to have three young guys become DH’s, however we need to find congruent places for a few of them.
Corner OF? 2B? Alternate DH?
Would love to find an ace SP on the Grad. Trf. wire.
