Students may begin claiming their tickets today (Monday, Sept. 22), and those that have claimed a tickets and attend the game (have ticket scanned), will be entered to win one of five authentic Stormtrooper Helmets.

Geek is chic these days, definitely a good idea. Will encourage people to pick up tickets for the game if they're borderline. For an example of a bad marketing idea, look at how Michigan was recently giving out 2 free tickets with purchase of Coke products.

Interesting idea that I hope goes well but the storm troopers were the bad guys. Miami = bad guys. Guess they couldn't find enough white light sabers

I cringe over the nerdy stereotype and I am not crazy about being the guys in a movie who act inept and end up on the losing end of things.

Miami plays the Stormtrooper/Darth Vader Imperial March star wars song at their games. I think they should have went the other way and we play light side. But, what nerd would not want a Stormtrooper Helmet over a Skywalker mask. Of course they could have gave away authentic blue light sabers.

Those worried about GT projecting a nerdy image should go to get some refreshments during our band's halftime show. "A Tribute to Science " might be too much for them.

The free ones are for students only. You should be able to get the mask at any number of the Halloween/Costume shops that just opened in the last few weeks.

I'd say bring it! The more people unified the better. They're only giving them to students but everyone should bring one if they can

He has one that lights up so I'm sure he will want to wear it.
I just didn't want him to stick out like a ruby in a goats butt by wearing it.
Especially if we aren't in the designated sections.
So wear it he shall (in my Yoda voice)
