Miami Schadenfreude

Honestly, not much schadenfreude to be had with these clowns. Possibly the most insipid, degenerate fan base in all of sports, not just CFB. Looks like they emptied a federal prison and sent them to all to JC Penny for sporting attire.
When bds upper deck seats are so cheap, why are they miami fans and not gt fans.

Gt would love sidewalk fans.

"jc penny" adjectives are not team building ( a lot of players parents friends shop or work at walmart jc penny.).

Jay Batt is Marketing to Atlanta. The best fans in world are Gt sidewalk fans. The recruited mia fan will look great in Gt shirt as they help fill the stadium.

I enjoy reading opponent message boards and watching some YouTube recaps after our games. And I'll tell you what: that is the most spoiled, ignorant, narrow-minded, self-centered fanbase I've ever witnessed.

Blaming it entirely on the refs, comments like "Georgia Tech is a really bad team" and "one of the worst teams in the ACC," how we don't even belong in the same conference...

What a joke. We had the superior game plan, and we had the superior execution. It was a good game that you lost. I hope you lose out.

By the way, they played dirty all day, and got all the calls to avoid big penalties. No respect for this program.

Exactly! They try to use helmet to helmet contact in a sneaky way. They lower their head but don’t launch, and use the opposing player’s ( our RB’s for instance ) momentum toward them to cause injury. VERY DIRTY PLAY.

OTOH, he was hunting up a ref down the sideline like his britches were on fire. Wonder what he saw and if he thought we were going to fake it? Or did they have too many men on the field? If we pick up a first down there on a gadget play, saving a TO wouldn't have mattered all that much. I think we can agree that the fumble saved him from further scrutiny on THAT decision.

Yeah obviously something was off in his eyes. Can't criticize without knowing what he saw. If he just realized at that moment we might fake it and needed to get a punt safe going, then he's an absolute idiot. Entirely possible, but so are other things.

Live I saw that Miami had 13 players on the field. He was running to the ref to call the time out to avoid the penalty. I don't think he realized the ref hadn't opened play yet so we couldn't snap it if we wanted to. The extra Miami player got off the field before the ref opened play but at that point Miami had already called the Time out.

I have season tickets in the upper North (210) and I am here to tell you that we are getting some new fans up there, there are different people every game around us, some are visitors but a lot of them are younger Tech fans, and families and they don’t look like alum either, it’s a more diverse crowd than in the past which is really nice to see imo.

It’s pretty amazing how many sidewalk fans Miami has in seemingly every state, and what a high percentage of them are douchy a-holes, it makes one wonder what draws them to that team and keeps them going? The thuggery of the 90’s UM teams?

It's a Miami thing.
Noticed this with the Atl United v Miami match as well.
Their players act the same way and so do the fans

I will say, the fans IN Miami are usually pretty good fans. We can’t act like our fans are the best either. A lot of douchy tech fans in my section talking 💩 to the Miami fans that weren’t that bad.

Miami has fans in Miami? Even as a top 5 team in the country, they can't even remotely fill their own stadium. I think there were just as many Miami fans at Bobby Dodd Saturday as there are on a weekly basis at Hard Rock.

that's not a good look for a fan of any team. Doesn't matter if there is a backstory (with the possible exception that these two know each other and have a friendly relationship). As you might surmise from this post, I am in my "autumn years" or whatever polite euphemism one might use for grumpy old man.

He's being helpful by pointing the fastest way out of the stadium.

Eh, I probably wouldnt do it but, based on what I saw and heard in that section, I can't say the cane didn't deserve it.

Sometimes obnoxiousness must be met with obnoxiousness...ess(?)

But ... I'll get off your lawn now so you can stop shaking your fists at us 'dang kids'.
