No one won the poll.
Flushed.
Flushed.
I blame it on myself for having high expectations and us actually breaking through and winning 2-3 this weekend to widen the gap. I was wrong and I continue to put myself through the pain of being a Tech fanI blame the weekend on Wiley Ballard. He has been with the Braves all season, and they have performed very poorly. And we know how things have gone for us. This weekend he comes down to Coral Gables...the Braves sweep Minnesota and the Jackets get swept.
But seriously, it was just a bad weekend that a good team flushes, doesn't change a thing from what they've been doing all season, doesn't press, and just continues the grind. 14-7 is still a hosting record, and the only concern would be around the fact that we've been beating up on bottom of the conference schools. So, the next three ACC weekends will be important, but 6-3 will be plenty to host.
What an absolute joke of a weekend. Hall should just leave now. Team has completely given up.
12 runs total scored in their last 5 games. Garbage team.
Must not watch much baseball..

NGL, I wasn't able to watch today, but watched the last two. We were due for a weekend like this. It sucks, but it may be good in the long run. 7/8/9 sucked all weekend. We made errors, Miami made errors, but made plays to make up for them and prevent runs.
Honestly, not too worried. We knew our Sat/Sun guys were hit or miss. This weekend was more miss. The offense had about as bad of a weekend as they could've had. Already mentioned the 7/8/9, but Jesus come on guys. Not being able to do ANYTHING there all weekend puts you in quite the hole. The top half looked pretty solid as usual. Some unlucky balls/great plays by the defense.
If we have another weekend like this next weekend, I'll be worried. Honestly, seeing how things played out Friday and Saturday, I'm not all that worried. Uncharacteristically bad defense and just freezing cold bats. Tate was lights out. Brady had an off night. Happens. Let's get healthy and move past it.
I suspect the issue with Rogers is the K-Rate. Counting today he is now at 47%. I personally would like to see him get more shots, though.I know we want him to get more at-bats but I liked Kerce in the 9 hole, I don’t get the infatuation with putting Will Baker in the lineup at all costs (it seems). I think we have just as quality hitters and fielders who haven’t been given the opportunities he has. Shouse for example you can tell is a star in the making and Rogers has a better avg. with the same amount of HRs and less plate appearances.
LoneStar Jacket has been a good poster in past seasons. He/she hasn't been around at all this year. LoneStar, welcome back, but I agree with Decatur, these posts come across as trolling.Don't feed the trolls...
Yep. Baseball is a head game, similar to golf in that respect. When you begin to think you have figured out your game, the game gods bring you back to reality. The most successful baseball coaches understand that and can mediate that tendency for young players to keep their focus until the last out.Outcoached...Outplayed...This is what you get when you start reading the newspaper clippings, instead of taking care of business.
Serious coaching issues?? We're 29-11 and 14-7 in the ACC still, what would the record have to be for us not to have serious coaching issues? 40-0? Every team goes through bad weeks in baseball.Yep. This team has some serious coaching issues, but is not lacking the talent to have a high level of success, in my opinion.

At a glance, it looks like 8 of the top 15 teams lost their weekend series FWIW.
I agree, we looked unable to do much of anything most of this weekend. Sandwiching this sweep between two of our biggest midweeks makes it feel worse, and UVA is another team that has the talent to beat a whole bunch of teams when they get it together.
The team needs to right the ship and get back to our winning ways. Don't let the mental loss spiral.
Just my opinion based on the last several years, not solely on the last 4 games, and could possibly be related to the over due coaching transition. We shall see.Serious coaching issues?? Yeah, I don't really understand the Baker obsession. They obviously see something that they like though. He started opening day and has now become a fixture in the lineup while Schmidt is out. He's shown flashes and was 5 for his last 14 heading down to Miami, but yeah 1 for 8 on the weekend. Looking at this season, he's a pretty streaky hitter. All of his hits are usually over a 3-4 stretch and then he's cold again.
I'm with you. I'd rather see Coupet, Shouse, Rogers, Neises. At least mix it up. I was surprised Baker got the start in all three this weekend. However, a lot of that probably had to do with Hernandez being banged up after Friday and needing Baker at 2B - though his .929 fld% isn't good either.
