Medical redshirt

I'm interested to see what happens with Reeves. He would easily qualify for a medical redshirt if he does not play against this season. (less than 30% of the season played and a documented medical injury that prevented return).

Different type of player, but look how much Terry has meant to this year's squad.

Interesting. Reeves pretty much made Deebo expendable last year. He’s not the ball handler our 4 top guards are, and he’s not an inside force. Has the emergence of Powell lessened the need for Kowacie?

It has definitely lessened the need to rush him back. I love Reeves' game when he's on. Best offensive player on the court when he's on.

Just being down near the bench, my heart hurts for Kowacie. I can tell that sitting on the bench with the boot is affecting him.

Luke is still laughing, joking and messing around, but Wacie has looked depressed. Whatever the situation, I hope it works out to his favor because he’s such a great young man.

When Reeves is healthy, he's the best "all around" player we have. He can score, shoot, create his own shot, defend, rebound, pass...and he has good size to defend multiple positions as well as create mismatches on the offensive end. I love this guy's game.

Team seems to be playing well without him, but we'll be an even better team with a fully healthy Reeves.

Interesting take. I don’t see their games as at all similar. They have different roles in my opinion.
With the emergence/utilization of Mutumbo and Souare, Ndongo is playing a lot more of the 4 spot. Same spot as Powell. This offensive system looks for the 4 spot to be more of a stretch 4 who can keep the floor spread. Much more of Powell's strength than Ndongo's.

I agree with many posters on here that Wacie can be a valuable contributor on offense, and he can score in multiple ways. When he’s hot, he’s a deadly 3 point shooter, and he’s very athletic finishing at the rim, especially off of base line drives. But, I have to push back on the popular refrain on here that he is capable of creating his own shot. Most all of his dribble drive attacks to the basket that I can remember come from attacking a defender that is late on the closeout. That is a valuable skill , but it is considerably different from being able to break down a 1v1 defender, which is not necessarily one of wacie’s strengths in my opinion.

You are no doubt correct. I was holding out for Ndongo getting back to the form we saw in flashes last year. Conceivably you then could on occasion have Powell and Ndongo in the lineup at the time, along with Souare at the 5, and some rotation of Terry and McCollum and George at the two guards.

Powell and Ndongo shared the floor for less than four minutes in the BC game.

And O’Brien is tall enough to play the stretch 4. Very experienced and savvy as well.

I am wondering if Baye hit a plateau. I don't see much difference in his 2025 pay from last year. Maybe it's not as good.
He has better players around him this year and teams are defending the pick and roll better this year. He needs to stay out of foul trouble to stay on the floor too.
