Lamar got a 6 for a game statistically that was exceptional.WEird.23 pts-Good shooting,6 assts/2TOs and 6 Rebs.

Not sure if you mean you really don’t get the +/- stat or you just found it surprising that Lamar’s +/- wasn’t higher after having such a good game.

The +/- stat is simple. It is just the net point differential calculated for all of the time while a given player was in the game. If Lamar’s +/- was +6 that means GT outscored Monmouth by 6 during all of the time while Lamar was on the floor.

CDS’s press conference reminded me of the back half of last season. I pointed out at the time what he said and he repeated it again today. He is less concerned about missed shots than he is about effort. If you are playing hard, doing the little things correctly, and playing defense, he believes the rest will fall into place.

We saw an example of that in Nait George when he finally figured out what the coach wanted and we even saw it with a depleted roster last season.

This is the way this team needs to play. Good win.

I think the players are smarter than that and know exactly what he’s saying. At least that’s what the players themselves are saying.

He was very protective/complimentary regarding several players (Cole, Marshall, Washington). His point was players get all twisted about their shooting and he does not as much as he wants constant effort.
