Agree that who shoots them matters. If we are in close games at the end, we could see teams using 'HackaSylla' strategies against us. Hopefully he is running suicides and practicing shooting FTs afterwards. Not expecting 80+% however it needs to be at least 60%.
Yes. And back in the day, when you had a close lead with a minute left, Sylla would be on the bench and you'd have your best FT shooters on the court. Not sure we have any though.

I think you should give him a raise and a contract extension.

Me personally?

Would do better.

Being critical is one thing. Being daft is another.

He did these as well. They're clearly being told to do this, meaning, it's not a 'Sylla' thing, imho.

I agree with the rest tho. In particular, I loved Kiro's rebounding.
Cole was getting the ball top of the key and looking to dribble to the next player and hand off with a solid screen. I haven’t seen anybody else do that. Washington got a couple of easy shots off of that action. He also said a couple of Downs screens that I haven’t seen anybody else set either

Sylla would do much better if he would start the game by setting hard screens and then move to the slip as the game progresses

It was only one game but I genuinely think you have to wonder if Cole Kirouac could give us more than Baye/Mo/P with their minutes. How many times do we watch opposing teams come to McCamish and want it more than every single Jacket on the floor? Not today from Cole - he matched or exceeded the energy and passion of every other player on the floor, GT or Monmouth.

I think Cole should get more time. But, no. "More time" means from zero to giving a breather for about 4 or 5 minutes a game.

If he does well in those 4 or 5 minutes, then he earns 7 or 8. But, let's not get crazy over a few minutes today.

Having said that, what the hell? Start him in 10 days against Marist and play him 35 minutes. There will be about 700 people paying attention. And, nothing really matters because all the really good looking girls will go out with the guys from Camp Mohawk anyway because they got all the money!!

Hey, I'm not gonna argue with you. I loved what he was doing out there. Agree Sylla and Ndongo would benefit from doing more than just trying to post up.

I think ndongo seems out of shape in addition to injured all year, which contributes to what you're seeing. Sylla seems raw. They'll need to find a way to play Kiro more. We have a lot of questions at a point when we should have answers. Like how we desperately needed to be developing EC in games to this point since hes the closest thing we have to a point guard. Sigh

Yes, huge shout-out to Cole. Finally saw some dividends today. Damon, Wacie, and Lamar all gave him a shout-out during the postgame pressers.

Funny comments from the peanut gallery.

CDS’s press conference reminded me of the back half of last season. I pointed out at the time what he said and he repeated it again today. He is less concerned about missed shots than he is about effort. If you are playing hard, doing the little things correctly, and playing defense, he believes the rest will fall into place.

We saw an example of that in Nait George when he finally figured out what the coach wanted and we even saw it with a depleted roster last season.

This is the way this team needs to play. Good win.

Good job working in Nait George! Well done. 👍

Just want to highlight 2 specific plays I saw from Kirouac. This is from watching in arena, so haven’t confirmed what I think I saw. First, a GT player (Wacie? Lamar?) had gone to the floor and secured the ball. Cole immediately moved to a position where the player could cleanly pass him the ball. So many times I see situations where it doesn’t seem like players react to help their teammate get out of a trap.

Second, he jumped to block a shot but he was early (or there was a pump fake) and he came down. But he then reached back and blocked the shot.

Good effort all around, but it was particularly nice to see him earn some minutes and produce.

Too bad we can't play a monmouth every week. I don't get the +/- results at all.
Lamar got a 6 for a game statistically that was exceptional.WEird.23 pts-Good shooting,6 assts/2TOs and 6 Rebs.
We still can't turn folks over. Too slow?

This was the first time where I felt like Lamar was comfortable. That was a positive. I think how he goes will heavily determine how we go.
in my opinion; the lack of a definite starting PG is one of the main things that has held back the team. Hope we can settle on Washington.
