I was stationed in southern California in the Navy while Maxie was playing in the NFL. I went to a LA Rams exhibition game just to see him play. He always wore that engineers hat, even on the sidelines. One of the greatest linebackers to ever play on Grant Field. A great Yellow Jacket. Thanks for the memories.

Remember that old cliche, “They don’t make ‘em like that any more”? Sometimes cliches speak truth.

I hate to see him go. He (and his engineer’s cap) were a welcome site on campus.

A real loss for all Tech fans. I used to have an engineer's hat like his myself and I'll try to find one to wear this year.
