IMO it's better to sit with Tech fans on away games. But that might be due to me getting older LOL!!! Years past I didn't care as long as I could get a ticket!

I got tickets in section 4 (nose bleed deck) for $19. The Tech section up there is going to be sections 1 ands 2, maybe 3 (if we're 5-0). So stub hub or seat geek will get you close.

I haven't been to VT since that game in 2012, and we've won the past two without me attending, so I'm part "I want to go back" and part "I don't want to jinx us" lol

Back to the original questions, I've never purchased tickets from the AA that were cheaper than comparable tickets on the secondary market - the AA is not the cheapest option, ever. However I do like knowing the school gets some of my money, the school doesn't have to send tickets back for more home fans to purchase, and we get to sit with Tech fans. The only thing that stinks is the seat location which is typically in a corner or in the end zone, and tickets are allocated based on AT points so I always end up at the top.

Surprised they having bulldozed "the market" in down town. Guess it's too remote for the crazy people to care about. Pretty cool to see though.
