Looking ahead....too early to predict 2025? No, I can't keep rehashing last night vs Vandy, so......

Is it way too early to predict wins and losses for 2025, less than 24 hrs after the disappointing Vandy loss? Lots of unknowns in terms of transfer portals and how did last night's game hurt GT, if at all. Or will it motivate us? Tough schedule again......

@ Colorado 8/30 (Win in a tough opener)
@ BC (Loss to a physically pound the rock team)
@ Duke (Loss-Duke is no longer the Duke of old)
@ NCST (Win)
@ Wake Forest (Win)

Gardner Webb 9/6 (Win)
Temple 9/20 (Win)
UGA @ MBS 11/29 (Loss but again compete)
Clemson (Win, we finally we get Dabo)
Pitt (Win)
Syracuse (Loss)
Virginia Tech (Win to make up for this year)

8-4 regular season. several of these games we will win we shouldn't win and blow a couple we should win.

Yes. I believe it is way too early to believe that this bunch will only lose 4 games. We have more portal related personnel decisions to make.

And prayers to make,

I needed to do something like looking ahead and maybe dream too. Last night was so disappointing and not just the refs, we seemed to be sleep walk from the kick off except the final seven minutes and down by 21 points....I applaud that GT came back but why not be aggressive right from the get go? I agree it is early for a good read of what we have but I need to look ahead, delusionally or realistically. Happy New Year.

I just finished rewatching. We could have won that game had our spirit not been broken during those referee kerfufels. But we have alot of holes to fill in order to win more than 6-7 games next year. We operate on the tiniest of margins

BC is a pound the rock team? Check their bowl game. They threw the ball 41 times for 301 yards versus 26 rushes for 47 yards.

I will be very disappointed if we don’t win at least 9 games. This is the easiest our schedule has been and we have a lot of production returning.

Maybe it's too optimistic until we see who's on the team next year, but I can realistically see 8 wins, possibly 9 if things break our way. We will probably have the standard lose one we're not supposed to and win one we're not supposed to, which has tracked almost every year since I've been a Tech fan. I do think we knock off UGA in 2025. CBK has that one circled.

Way to early to know who will be on our team come August next year. If we don't lose any key players, that's more hopeful than realistic, by August and get a few more good DL players 9 wins is a reasonable goal. King's health is also very much in question. It has been very clear that his throwing ability has been severely degraded this season due to injuries.

I love to look at the schedule and predict as much as anybody, but it is invariably futile. Every year some teams will turn out to be way overrated and some sleepers will emerge as good teams. We will play well some weeks and so-so other weeks. Sometimes our coaches will have great game plans, but not every week. Key players will be injured, and they could be on either side. And other things I'm not thinking of.

If we don't get significantly more quality DL, our ability to have a decent defense will be suspect at best. We improved our run defense a lot this year but we are losing a ton based on seniors and transfers. We definitely need some interior DL which we don't have currently.

That’s very Braine-like. :)
Believe me...I hate it..
But this is a whole new world...I hate that the mutts could play and win with just about any random 22 from the roster and we are praying for a few decent 300 lb DLs.
But it is an uphill battle..us against the world
