Agree in general. But I don't think coaching had anything to do with Kyle. He was a grad transfer. Until GT gets degree program help, those are likely to continue unfortunately.
My guess is a fairly high percent of Grad Transfers get into a different undergraduate degree program vice a graduate program. That’s a guess.

the good news is I'm proud of him and our DL has been surprisingly good because of Van Den Berg, Gore, Biggers, and Height this year. On fire since the VT game.

The bad news? IMAGINE IF KENNARD STAYED.

The dear john "our time was special but" letter will help my wife recover. After her favorite IVEY left she followed Kyle as a favorite.
I WILL REPORT HER REACTION
She said he seemed genuine.

Was MARCO let go and then Kyle portaled out? Or was marco here when kyle left.

I sure like our present DL staff

The plant never needs fixing; it's always the environment. Mr. Kennard benefited from an environment, scheme, teammates, and other factors conducive to his on-field success.

A PERFECT example of the "me" atmosphere in "college Ha" athletics these days.
A really smart move by him. It is a meaningless game after the season. He has potential to become an NFL starter. His goal is to prepare for his future job. College football has done that and now it’s time to move to the next phase of job training.

If bowl games are meaningless, then a significant number of regular season games are meaningless as well.
That’s BS. Bowl games are after the Semester is over. If players want to transfer or go Pro they are better off getting on with it. There are more Bowl in some years than teams .500 or better. Bowls are now simply events to fill ESPN’s TV hours.

congratulations, KK, on Nagurski award.
South Carolina is in CFP without this play, however.....

My wife is USC girl and we were in Columbia for LSU...I saw this happen, 20 yards behind the play..... said to my BIL before interception returner crossed midfield, "Oh ****. This is coming back....Oh well, #5 is a GT guy, after all....." None of the Gamecocks sitting around me thought this was funny......

A lot of regular season games are in fact meaningless. We’ve known this for years. FSU’s entire 2023 regular season was meaningless. UGA-Texas parts I and II were meaningless. Our games against GA State and VMI were meaningless, enjoyable but meaningless.

What has that have to do with meaning? The playoffs are also after the semester is over. Does that make them meaningless? I wish people would be honest in these discussions. It has nothing to do with meaning; it has to do with preserving your payday. Just admit that that is what is driving it, and I will agree with you.

Playoffs matter. If you can't see the difference in the CFP and a meaningless Bowl ame that's on you. Some teams care about Bowl Games and some do not. Players not in the CFP have finished their Season. Many, over 1000 have entered the Transfer Portal. A bunch more will opt out of Bowl Games to get ready for the NFL.

Fans care. The results are interesting but really say very little about the season that was finished a month ago!

So all the players who do play during bowls and all the fans that watch them are just engaged in frivolity? Any player injured in a bowl was just a sucker wasting their time? Better tell Key and our players they are wasting their time next week, then, and ask the fans to cancel their tickets. This is all meaningless!

Bowl games matter because the fans care; it’s a reward for the players; a final chance to get another win; and a final chance to play football for many. Players who opt out are doing so for financial reasons, not because they’ve come to the sudden and deep conclusion that bowls are meaningless. In fact, I think you‘ll start to see many more players opt out of the playoffs as well (even Penn State has one this year). And this in no way implies that the playoffs are meaningless.

Fans care. Coaches care. Guys playing care. Yet still the Bowl games are often not close to being a reflection of the season thus they are basically exhibition games. Their only purpose is to fill TV slots. Virtually every team that did not have a losing record goes to a Bowl game.

If it’s a reward, as you say, it’s a reward for not being a Bad team. What Bowl games are you watching besides GT vs Vandy? Likely none except the CFP.

There was a time when Bowls were meaningful. That time has long passed for the bulk of college football fans.
