I agree it's very hard to win every game. But, as we do in every pre-season poll on how we're going to perform, I'm not willing to concede any winnable game before it's played, so while I don't think we'll go undefeated, I'm not willing to pick losers, so I go with giving us the benefit of the doubt in every game.

That being said, it's very difficult to go undefeated, regardless of how favorable your schedule is. I would have said 8-1, but how do I choose we'll lose if we can win them all? :)👍
You should look at it like this. Flipping a coin, it is a 50% chance it will come up heads on every flip. To come up heads 9 times in a row, there is only a 0.20% chance, or 1 out of 500 chances. :)

But these games weren't all coin flips. I think we had a more than 50% chance in each of our games, except ND. So, probability is useful when determining overall record; when I go through each game and assess our ability to win, if I think we have a reasonable chance to win, I'm not going to count that as a loss. I'm just not. I'll rarely be correct in the big picture, but I'll be correct more times than I'm not correct when picking head-to-head.

Ok, but you have no idea of what you talking about. 🙂

I’m not sure why you think you know more than I do about what I’m saying. I understand probability and statistics, most likely as much as you do, but that has nothing to do with what I’m saying. So, it sounds like you are the one that has no idea what I am talking about.

Tell me one game that we couldn't (or shouldn't) have won if we were 100% healthy? To date, I can't name one. That we would win all of them is probably a stretch, but we haven't played a game yet that we shouldn't have won if we were 100% healthy. Yes, this is my opinion, but it is reasonable.
Before Gt ND lost thier all american candidate and team captian DB and earlier they lost OL starters.

When we loose starter, it's a bigger percentage loss in capabilities. So have coaches have to drop smaller items that needed attention which they were going to do and solve the bigger new bigger problem.

Like always at ND benz we arrived very early to watch warm up. ND clearly looked the clone giant ol part and they had a coach putting them thru coordinated drills instead of limbering up and half speed blocking. They simulated handing off a rushing DT who was doing a twist with DE. All 8 paired up and doing the drill as a unit were doing it in sequence. Intermittently, the coach would pause - bark something and they would adjust hand positions so each group looked the same.

LONG FG kick as if in game warm ups by Gt Birr was very impressive ( 3 from 53 yds down the middle! but low.) I was sitting row 23 right by the kicker warm ups and I the kicks were NOT CLEARLY plenty high enough.). No one was saying good job to Birr.

Way earlier Key had been out with warm up. Coaching priorities to fix a bad special teams with a lean staff WHILE starting a back up qb agaist top team - look at keys face.

Great sarcasm - well played!

Up-date on Haynes Key from Coach Key. Doesn't sound very encouraging for Miami Game.

“I don’t wanna sit here and say day-to-day again, but it truly is a day-to-day thing. I’m very hopeful we get him back for Miami. I can’t sit here and say that he’s probable for Miami. I can’t,” Key said. “I would hope by next Wednesday, Thursday, we’ll get a little clearer definition of it.

Another week passes, another "day-to-day."

Being a head coach is not an easy job. Seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don’t, position to be in regarding King’s status against Miami.

Start him against Miami and potentially lose 5 in a row if he’s re-injured / not 100%.

Play possum and rest him for NCST, likely lower the season potential ceiling to 6 wins.

If King is healthy he needs to play against Miami. If he's out our chance of winning are very near zero. If he plays I think we actually will give them a game. I don't like the strategy of "saving him" for NC State. Then what would you do, save him for the bowl game and not play him against uGA?

Try to win every game as best possible.

I would like to have been paid millions during my career to make decisions about who plays in a game. Have we allowed college sports to become of distorted importance? Sometimes I have to reign in my own priorities and recognize it is just a game. I would like for our team to be successful as much as anyone but not at the expense of a permanent injury. These kids are so competitive that they want to play when they shouldn't and at times it may actually lower the possibility to win. It becomes way more important to those who bet on the games than those of us who are fans.

Play all healthy players. The definition of healthy after 9 games is fungible at best!

Man, a far cry from my HS days. I.broke a pinky finger at middle linebacker. The coach had the trainer tape it up, and sent me back in. I dove to try to intercept a pass, caught my finger in the grass, and it snapped. Damn thing was dangling. The girl taping it was sorta churning over it.

A couple of weeks later, I had to have it rebroken at the ortho doc's office, which hurt a million times more than it did the first time. I actually saw him at the mall over the weekend with my folks (yes, I saw him alot), and he told them to have me there monday.

Maybe some changes are for the better.
