Regarding the Kickoff Classic in 2017 -
"Georgia Tech will receive a payout of $2.85 million for playing in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game in 2017. As part of the payout, Tech agreed to sell or purchase 30,000 game tickets worth a total of $3.1 million"

I.e. we have to PAY in more than we'll get in the payout.

I would not be at all surprised.

What I'm kind of hoping for is that other teams will continue to blitz against us next year. It'll be interesting to see their faces as Cotrell, Green, Benson, Marshall, and co. blaze through the edge. "But … but … that stopped them last year!"

We're not really making a lot if anything on this "deal".

"A home game at Bobby Dodd Stadium is worth about $2.5 million, athletic director Mike Bobinski said. The Jackets will have six home games that season – four ACC home games (North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest) and non-conference games against Jacksonville State and Georgia. "

Guess it's all about the "publicity".

It's a good marquis game to start the year, it's here in Atlanta. Both positives. We get to face an old SEC rival, another positive. I'd rather have a home and away with them but this is better than not playing them in it.

I don't really care. It's going to be awesome. I'd love to play a home and home with these guys, but Bobinski basically said it ain't gonna happen

We will probably be starting a new QB in that game vs a resurgent ut team. This could be GT vs Notre Dame('15) replay in front of whole country. hmmmm.
