Probably not but make em "review" it anyways. Mightve caught someone with a crisis of conscience and decide to do the right thing.

'They' probably gave him a stern look off-camera ....

Same as Desmond Howard the next day on sEcSPN Gameday. Mention once… then shut up. You know they were warned.

Tessitore absolutely didn't see a tip. He was too busy reading his UGA will be in the playoff script for the 1000x time. What an awful broadcast.
Well, I saw it and it was obvious. The replay showed it too. But … this is now water under the bridge.

I'm with Key on the possibilities he had on the road, however. As I sometimes yell at Grant (not Hyundai, Grant) Field: "It's our field and we call 'em our way!" Thus it has always been and always will be. Anyone expecting an even break from the refs on the road is bound to be disappointed.

All these things being mentioned make me want to say…why even play this game? If we play them the week before playoff crunch time every year, why even bother if big media and big Vegas are gonna pull strings to protect the bigger brand? They’re probably always gonna be in the picture come playoff time and they’re always gonna get the calls to ensure they have their spot. I’ve usually never wanted to believe in conspiracies, but the other night was brutal, and I don’t wanna be naive either. Can we play them game one when the playoff picture isn’t so prevalent? They typically have some guys suspended them haha.

Watching live I got excited cause I saw our lineman tip it and even assumed they would have picked up the flag or fixed it on a review (you know cause I still liked to believe in integrity in the game). It wasn't until the refs lined them up and let them snap the next play that I went ballistic.

Even if you watch the reply, as the ball passes our lineman's hand you can see part of his white glove covering I believe his thumb snap back and then forward again proving it hit the ball.

Someone else said this, we need to get rid of "conference" refs and go completely neutral.
And I'm not even sure how you do that, because we know there is big money from tv, the conferences to influence the NCAA.
If we get rid of conference refs, every ref will be an $EC ref. The better way to handle this is to have conference refs officiate games within the conference and have third party refs officiate inter-conference games. COFH likely has a different outcome if Big Ten refs officiate it.

Spurrier loved playing them then. He said they always have a few good players suspended. Ha!

I have thought about this recently and I agree that this is the way to handle it. This is something that can be implemented easily next year across college football without any major systematic changes.

Honestly after that game I hope Tech refuses to play the other school again until the contract is changed to something like this. We have been screwed too many times by their refs to keep this up.

Do you think our players and coaches would want them off of the schedule? I don't believe they would.

Agreed. There would be too much incentive to ref $ec games if you removed conference tie-ins.

I can't imagine a scenario where an unbiased decision-maker would think it's a good idea to have an inter-conference game reffed by a crew affiliated with either conference.

Our game should always have unaffiliated refs.

I don't think they want it off the schedule but it is also not fair to the players and coaches that the refs can continue to take these wins away from us as this is not the first time. I haven't listened to the interview yet, but based on what I read above it sounds like he basically said it's pointless to challenge because there is no way we will win against an SEC officiating crew.

College football has turned into WWE. I watched a lot of football this year and bet on around 100 games you would be amazed at how much corruption there is in these big games that someone who isn’t following the O/U or point spread would recognize. BS holding calls and insane play calls in certain situations. Ever since gambling became legal in half the states it gets more obvious. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if athletes weren’t gambling on games with NIL money

AND we don’t get them in Bobby Dodd again until 2027.

That may be a blessing in disguise. I think having Bobby Dodd overtaken by opposing fans messes with the players’ heads. They’re used to Bobby Dodd granting home field advantage. When it does the opposite, I think the subconscious starts sending signals of “Something is wrong here” throughout the whole game, and that causes the players to not be at their best. In hostile environments, their subconscious can easily square away that it’s an away game (even if it’s technically a neutral site), and there’s no subconscious internal conflict taking up processing power. Based on this theory, I think we have a better chance of winning COFH in the Benz than in Bobby Dodd until we get to a point where COFH has more Tech fans than dwag fans in the stands.

At the rate the program is progressing, that may be in 2027.

Things I hear from that interview:
  • Cellini and Dimino are happy to be able to talk to Key. There’s respect.
  • Key is fired up for the bowl and for the year ahead.
  • The game was a grind, and we have the mentality to win those kinds of games.
I do wish we had a midline in the playbook.

We do, (midline is a varient of an inverted veer reading the tackle) We just run it from the pistol / gun. However I do wish we had a version from singleback Duece ( 2 te lined up liek A backs and single back upright with QB undercenter) We run it from Pistol Duece often.

I made mention to this in another thread, but losing that game will provide more motivation, determination, and hatred than if we had survived the collapse. Those kinds of games builds up a mentality that nothing else will and it will pay dividends in the future. I really think we are on the verge of a long win streak in the rivalry.

Next year could prove to be really nasty for the gaggers, especially with every returning player being reminded for the next 365 days what happened by HCBK. Him and HK will not let that happen again.

We just need to get so good we literally flatten them beyond all recognition so we can squeak out wins every year. We know we need to beat them by at least 17 pts to have any chance of winning. Problem this year is we only beat them by 14, hence the OT debacle.
