Ken Whisenhunt - NCAA?

With all the Div 1 head coach job openings, any chance GT's Ken Whisenhunt gets an offer?
Would UGA, USCe, Miami offer?

This might be a bit off the wall and I am not in support for any coaching changes (at the moment), hire Mark Price and Ken Whisenhunt. With Roof as DC we would have three of our top coaches as alumni ... am I the only one who thinks that would be cool ???

We have had alums as HC's in football in the past, and none of them worked out. I'm pretty much against it in any sport.

I'm not sure why GT fans are so in love with hiring former alum. I think it's way overrated and ultimately causes a real situation when a guy isn't doing a good job and has to get the ax.

But taking a team to the Super Bowl would help with recruiting. Jim Mora Jr instantly recruited well for UCLA with no college experience.

Yes, but he knows and experienced GT and has had success at the next level. I think he would have a lot of success selling that to recruits.

Groh was a head coach at Va before coming to GT, his issue was never recruiting, he had some top 20 ranked classes at UVa, why he got fired because the wins didn't line up with talent. Also brought some good players to Tech, Attaochu, L Young.

Looks like he's due for a winning streak ... he was at GT part of the same time I was, never met him but seemed like a good guy and I thought it was really cool when the Falcons drafted him.

And 21-50 without Kurt Warner as his QB. I scratch my head every time he's mentioned as a possible HC candidate anywhere. I'd love it if UGA gave him a serious look for their recently vacated coaching position.

Being a good guy, which he definitely is, is no guarantee that he can be a good college HC.

Hell already froze over when Bama hired one in Bill Curry. That just shows that anything can happen....LOL
