I admit that I was pretty sure that FSU had made a mistake by hiring Fisher. He didn't seem like he was quite what they needed.
Well, as usual, Bobby Bowden was smarter about football then I sm. He's no innovator and FSU will never be a cutting edge team with him at the helm. He doesn't know how to discipline his players either, though the Talahassee police department has to share some of the blame there. But … he can recruit, he knows how to keep his team on an even keel in tough game situations (strange how that is often overlooked), and he has decent management skills. He's like Roger Staubach said about Tom Landry, "Landry is the perfect football coach. He's intelligent enough to call games and manage the team and stupid enough to think that's important."
Too bad, that. I was hoping for another Chizek.
