Titans franchise is a dumpster fire. Wiz had 5 games with the number 2 overall pick. That's absolutely ridiculous to fire somebody over.

While I agree the Titans should probably have given him more time, Wiz hasn't really done anything to convince me he's a good NFL head coach. With a .400 career record in 120 games, I doubt he gets another HC job any time soon. Even his second season in 2008 went Arizona went to the Super Bowl, they were only 9-7.

How many times b4 that had AZ bettered that record? I don't know what kind of coach he is but W-L record is only one component. Actually it kind of looks at the issue in reverse. Coaching + talent + injuries + luck + opponent factors of same are just some of the factors that go into W-L.

With the vast selection of FBS schools to choose from it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up a HC in college next year.

Maybe. Most of his career path has been in the league. Some coaches don't want to deal with recruiting.

Wiz is an excellent Offensive Coordinator though. He'll stick around in the league at least for that purpose.

The guy who actually hired him isn't with the organization anymore. The guy who runs the show there now wanted Dan Quinn but didn't want to wait until the end of the Seahawks run. Whisenhunt isn't his guy and has been atrocious so it's not all that surprising.

That record was largely due to Kurt Warner. Ever since he retired Whisenhunt's teams have been pretty bad. He's a great OC but not much else. When people were bringing him up as a CPJ alternative a couple years ago I was trying not to barf.

I'm not going through the Cardinals historical records, but the two years right after he went he 5-11 and got fired, they went 10-6 and 11-5.
