Y’all tell me the percentage of recruits that commit for an AD?!?!

If he wants to go live in Columbia SC. More power to him. We can find someone else just as good or better.

ADs make a big difference at a place like Ga. Tech. We literally dug ourselves into a 15 year hole because we gave coaches retarded contracts. We aren’t Auburn who can pay 3 coaches at the same time and still bring in money…Or do I dare bring up M-Bob who all but tried to run Paul out of town

I realize I am an old relic and the world is a very different place now, but I would NEVER take a job that I knew was like a 5 year process and make a bunch of commitments and then bail after 2 years. But that is just me ...
We shall see what happens but, yes, committing to a long term project is a relic of the past. Sadly.

If we have to replace him is it too late to get the UGA game back?

We don’t have immediate coach hires to make so there’s no rush there at least if something happens here.

Right to note that our AD has done a good job, but he was hired by the president of the Institute, and I'd be a lot more worried about Cabrera leaving than Batt.

Cabrera is 100% the best thing to happen to Tech. My question is how much is Batt wanting Tech to pay him? He’s in year 2 of a 5 year deal and yes he has grown out athletic budget substantially but is pretty much on par with the league. D-Rad is the highest paid in the country at 3 million every other major AD is between 800K- 2.1 million. I don’t think Cabrera would not give him a 200-300k raise and then let the next two years play out and up it again..

CBK is a Tech grad, and he bleeds white & gold. IMO, he has his dream job and will stay at Tech for 30 years if the fanbase wants him to.

ADJB, not so much. He has no particular allegiance to Tech and will, IMO, jump at the chance for A) a seat at the grown-ups table (the SEC) or B) the AD job at HIS alma mater, UNC.

Now, look at this photo:

If those were your kids, would you want to raise them in the metro sprawl of Atlanta? Or in a picturesque college town like Chapel Hill?

So, we can increase his salary, but he's a young guy who's been too many other places at this point in his career for me to believe that we can make him love Georgia Tech with all his heart and soul in just two short years. If he doesn't make this move, he'll make the next one.

The clock's been ticking since day one. I just thought we had more than two years.

If those were my kids and I made 1 million a year I’d pay tuition to send them to any school I wanted. Buford City for example is 35 minutes from Tech and one of the best Academies in the south. I wouldn’t raise them in ****ty South Carolina though..
