I am probably remembering this wrong but I though Spurrier was the QB Coach. I also thought that he applied for the head coaching job after Pepper was let go but we turned him down.
I know the second part was true. He did apply and we passed on him. Not sure about the first part, I wasn't GT-knowledgeable at that time.

Yes. Goo goo ga ga get me my apple juice.

I'm 16 though, so I'm at least a semi-functioning human being.
The difference between us and you is that most guys here think that a juice box is a thing with cables that you use to jump start your pickup when you don't close the door all the way.

jk

Glad to have some kids...er, young adults...on board. Tell your friends. 😋

I wasn't alive back then, but I think the 1990 natty coaching staff is our greatest ever. Ross, Ralph, and GOL on the SAME staff is impressive. In the late 90's-early 00's we had an nice staff as well. GOL, Ralph, BOB, Ted Roof, and a little known grad asst. named Brent Key.

I was born in '06, so the best staff we've had in my lifetime is probably the current one.
Tech's 1952 staff wasn't bad. Head Coach Bobby Dodd; Offensive Coordinator Frank Broyles; Defensive Coordinator Ray Graves - all Hall of Famers!! I saw this team as a kid - one of the greatest Tech teams.

I remember starting on the Tech boards when I was younger than you are now. First site I ever really learned how to navigate was CanChan.com as a 12 year old.

Anyone remember that poster Bunger Henry? I remember being in middle school thinking that guy was unhinged.

Yep. I remember it became bbuzzoff.com and is now GTsportstalk.com. I’m surprised the site is still going, a lot of us came here from there. Not sure why Jim Hart pays to keep that going when it’s been barely alive for years and so few posters.

Let's make some bowl games and ACCCGs before we get ahead of ourselves. This staff has to contend with National Championships, ACC Championships, and Orange Bowl wins before making any statement about being the best coaching staff of all time.

Also, Dodd's staff had several members that have awards named after them...so that's a REALLY high bar to overcome.

if you don't fit some of that old stuff feel free to dm me. I'd like some rare Tech swag.
I don’t go thru the old stuff very often but I’ll keep you in mind next time I do. I’m a bit more well rounded than back in the 3% body fat days when I was able to work out 3-4 hrs a day.

Our current coaching staff has a total of seven national championship rings - earned either as players or coaches.

I agree that they still have a lot to prove in their current roles, but these folks have won it all before.
Off the top of my head

Key - first year head coach; under qualified as a P5 head coach
Weinke - first time OC, less than 10 years of coaching experience
Faulkner - never been a P5 coordinator
Wade - first P5 gig
McKenzie - has P5 experience as position coach
Wr coach (blanking on name) - has been around. Good resume
Sherell - very solid resume for his role/job
Tillman - Ok resume
Coleman - minimal experience but has had some good gigs since starting 5 years ago
Thacker - was very under qualified when he started but knows the ropes here now. Still young and has her to accomplish much

None of that means anything, but experience isn’t on our side. Hopefully they can come together and get a lot out of the players. That is really what matters
