Enjoyed some perspective from both team's SID notes.
  • Senior DB Chris Milton is the FBS’s active career leader with seven blocked kicks. Georgia Tech has blocked 14 kicks since 2013 -- the most in the FBS. Two of Milton’s seven career blocked kicks have come this season.
  • The Jackets have helped bust that myth recently and are 8-3 over the last 11 games against played against teams that have had more than seven days of preparation. Tech has won three of its last four versus those teams.
  • Since joining the ACC in 2004, Virginia Tech (8-3) has the most wins against Georgia Tech of any conference team.
  • VT is 5-0 against GT on Thursdays.
Last but not least and another reason this Thursday's game is big:
  • No two current ACC programs own more all-time victories than Virginia Tech (715) and Georgia Tech (714).

Obligatory CuseJacket tangent... Syracuse is #3 with 711.

Full VT SID preview here for anyone interested in more. A few HS connections in this game as well - Good Counsel in MD and Trinity in FL.

Yesssss. That's why I didn't want them to join the conference. That program has been sitting there waiting for an excuse to get better for some time. Then the ACC gave it to them. Now it's just a matter of finding the right coach. And, btw, we used to get a lot of the good players from New York and New Jersey. Now with Rutgers and 'Cuse, no such luck. Drat.

I'm all about recruiting out of state. We have had a lot of success with it and should try to improve upon it. Improving instate recruiting is even more important though.
