If there were a playoff system in 1990...

Colorado vs Miami and Georgia Tech vs Texas would have the Semi Final games. The final game would have been Tech vs Miami in the final game based on how those 4 teams performed in the bowl games IMO. Seems like such a long time since that magical season! THWG!

I would not want to have played Miami at the end of the season. They were really good by then

We kinda did settle it on the field. Undefeated. Colorado with 1 loss, and should've had 2(Mizzou 5th down). Phantom clipping call on Rocket Ismail's big punt return for ND.

key word in your first sentence is "kinda". Playoffs take that out of the picture. Obviously not all observers felt like we were the best team that year. Unfortunately and depite what you, me and all the other GT fans think.

The three best teams that year were GT, FSU and Miami. Colorado should not have been in the conversation. Would we have beaten FSU or Miami in a playoff? I don't know. But I do know that we throttled the Big 8 runner up in the Citrus Bowl, and we would have done the same to Big 8 champion Colorado. 1980 Georgia and 1990 Colorado may be the two worst AP national champions of all time. At least the Dwags were undefeated, even if they did play a weak schedule. The Colorado MNC is totally illogical.

Could other teams have beaten us in a playoff in 90? Certainly. Which team had the best chance to win it all in a playoff? Tech imo.

They weren't as good as Clemson at the end of the year. At the end of the year, my eyes were telling me that Tech. and Clemson were the two most physical teams.
