Yeah, but thanks to people actually being able to successfully sue over the dumbest reasons ( like the old bat who spilled McDonald's coffee on herself), everybody is scared of a possible lawsuit.

I think the admin is closing the campus to allow faculty and staff the freedom to stay home, and students to stay indoors, during the most hazardous period. Maybe Tuesday was overkill, but Monday seems reasonable given the forecast of 55 mph gusts. That's not chopped liver.

More like they're not willing to risk anything after how poorly the snow storm was dealt with a few years ago. A lot of folks commute (faculty and staff particularly) and Atlanta drivers already freak out when it's sprinkling. First tropical storm warning in the history of Atlanta, best to keep folks off the roads. If it makes you feel better, GT was the last public school to cancel and it only happened after a state of emergency was announced.

They cancelled all school classes in Augusta Monday and Tuesday simply to accommodate all the refuges from Savannah, and now it turns out that Savannah apparently won't see much of the storm at all.

Don't get me started on the McDonald's care on here again. Mickey D's effed up not only in her case but many, many other similar ones. I laid this out for the board as while back. Are there egregious cases? Oh hell yes but that wasn't one of them.
