I could coach the players he has coming in to a top 20 finish. He has done remarkedly well recruiting.

So, a couple things ....

If this list is about who's the best coaches, there's no discernible measure that puts the new dook coach ahead of anyone certainly not a guy with an ACC title under his belt.

And I'm wary of giving the new guy a ton of credit for recruiting successes at a place like that. Yes, he's gotta 'do the work', but we gotta recognize he's on 3rd base with a massive lead but he ain't hit no triple.

As an aside, I am in no way suggesting our guy is the bees knees. Just saying there's been plenty of 'shiny new toy' coaches that fizzle out.

Forgot about this matrix but you can look at 2019-20 opponents to see what our conference schedule looks like this year. Our repeat games look very kind and our hardest opponents we get at McCamish for the most part. I'm really hoping that @Louisville game is a Saturday - definitely would like to make a long weekend out of it. I've heard that city has incredible food and I've never been. Gonna leave open the possibility of some combo of @Clemson, @NCST, @WF and @FSU as possible road trips too.

UNC picks up Pete Nance from Northwestern. They have to be the odds on favorite to win the national championship next year with Armando Bacot, Pete Nance, Caleb Love, RJ Davis, and DPOY candidate Leaky Black. What a team.

Looks like our non-conf includes NIU, Utah, Mississippi State/Marquette, and Iowa so far. Pretty well established but not officially announced that we have a game at Georgia State in November too.

So I was looking at the roster for this yr.We have basically 3 big guys it looks like for the guys playing at the 4 and 5 positions. ----.6-7,6-8,6-10 .Moore at 6-6 will be in also probably .This has got to be the smallest/weakest frontline in ACC..I hope they don't foul or get tired.

We have scholarships to give. Wish they could find a couple more bigs. It’s getting late, don’t know how much time is left

59% of 68.6 pts/game is not much.

We lost our top two in Devoe and Usher, who are big losses. However, we have a lot of potential that really needs to step up. There is some rumbling about offensive scheme changes coming for this season also.

There are smarter basketball minds than me on the board, but I feel like we have a lot of guards. We have Meka and Moore at forward, and Howard at center. We have some good and interesting ingredients; I'm just not sure how we're cooking them up.

I don't put a lot of emphasis on the returning production number from last year. It's not telling us anything we didn't know--we need to get some of our young players moving freely and scoring and fluid in a scheme that fits them.

Next year we should be better at both the PG spot and C spot with increased consistency from Kyle and Roddy while both Deivon and Jordan have some experience as well.

The middle of the line up is where the biggest question marks and the biggest potential is located to me. Losing Usher and Devoe obviously hurts a lot, but IMO the group of Coleman, Kelly, and Maxwell have the potential to be better than those two. Whether they will reach that potential, and if they do when that will happen, is a big point, but I don't think we're in a roster situation where we have no reasonable hope for success. I also think our depth is trending up as well with Terry, Jalon, and Franklin also being solid pieces who could surprise. The most interesting thing to me is to see who steps up and tries to make this team theirs. Last year it was Usher's and Devoe's team. I thought at times the rest of the team were a bit to deferential to them and without those two it may force guys into mindsets that are better for them.

Thanks for posting this although it's sad. Regardless of "he is better than so and so" it still tells a story. He ain't in the top 40. I noticed Capel is even rated higher - that's my "he's better than so and so" but that doesn't mean much. Funny that when he signed we all said he has the energy to recruit but he can't coach. As it turns out, he can coach some but can't recruit. You never know.
