Most teams play us in this formation with the middle linebacker about 5 or so yards back. I don't think it is that effective UNLESS you have an honest to God sideline to sideline killer on cleats (like Sean Spence with Miami a few years ago) who is athletic, easily avoids linemen, and plays the correct angles. I think most teams would be better off crowding the line of scrimmage and shooting gaps with safeties like Virginia Tech sometimes does with a variety of formations and moving defensive linemen around. But that's just my opinion. Others more knowledgeable may differ.

This year imo
No one will be over 71 our right guard.
He is not dangerous in open field.
Last year
If right guard uncovered, bad things happened down field
Last year rg guard pulling was fast and devestating so need to be covered.
On a called play
Wonder if we could use 71 to down block so we could release our best lineman = burden to lead jt on qb reverse?
71 is such a force he could mke quite a pile . I thought we did more down blocking last year. Need to punishvthe dt crashing the gap. 71 is a punisher
