A blocked punt and a lot of kicking by Butker. Never saw Rodwell. We dominated so ST weren’t a big factor, but a blocked extra point could be massive in close games. Overall a B+, would have been A if KOs & return coverage had been better.

Can’t say enough about blocking EPs and FGs. We are tied for 2nd in the nation for kicks/punts blocked with 5 this year. SPEED KILLS. http://www.cfbstats.com/2014/leader/national/team/offense/split01/category24/sort01.html

Butker losing some distance as the game go on, now only 11th in KO distance and 12th in TB% and you can see how it goes down by game. May be the cooler weather too…….. http://www.cfbstats.com/2014/team/255/kickoff/offense/gamelog.html Also our coverage isn’t always great. Given the potential for games to be turned around by big returns, I just want TB every time even though the average starting position is between 23 and 24.

Golden tried to return more rather than fair catching; he had two punt returns for zero yards. I think in previous games he would have fair caught those. Good way to put pressure on the opponent ST return team.

Our STs improved from 20 to 19 this week. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/feist Here are our stats, ironically, the Butker areas are the weakest. I think that will change for the better in the next couple years and we should get even better .......
  • 19th - STE: Special Teams Efficiency, the composite efficiency of the given team's Field Goal Efficiency (FGE), Punt Return Efficiency (PRE), Kickoff Return Efficiency (KRE), Punt Efficiency (PE), and Kickoff Efficiency (KE), measured in terms of points per game. In an average game, a team is expected to attempt 1.54 field goals, punt 4.61 times, receive 4.61 punts, kick off 4.84 times and receive 4.84 kickoffs.
  • 102nd - FGE: Field Goal Efficiency, the scoring value per field goal attempt earned by the field goal unit as measured against national success rates.
  • 5th - PRE: Punt Return Efficiency, the scoring value per opponent punt earned by the receiving team as measured against national return rates.
  • 41st - KRE: Kickoff Return Efficiency, the scoring value per opponent kickoff earned by the receiving team as measured against national return rates.
  • 25th - PE: Punt Efficiency, the scoring value per punt earned by the opponent's receiving team as measured against national return rates.
  • 78th - KE: Kickoff Efficiency, the scoring value per kickoff earned by the opponent's receiving team as measured against national return rates.
  • 72nd - OFGE: Opponent Field Goal Efficiency, the scoring value per field goal attempt earned by the opponent's field goal unit as measured against national success rates. OFGE is not factored into total Special Teams Efficiency.
