GT Special Teams Versus Clemson

Workmanlike game with a few unusual glitches but overall a B.

Butker 3 of 4 FGs. The one he missed from 48 was straight and slightly left. Always good form, just doesn’t always put it through. Next game he can make amends for last year’s UGAg miss.

Butker 5 of 7 on KO TBs and the two “short” ones were 65 and 64 yards. No wonder he is 7th in the country on KO distance.

Rodwell was allowed to play! One punt for 45 yards with 6 yard return.

Bad moment of the day was missed Extra Point on first TD. Bad hold from what I saw; I apologize for complementing the long snapper / holder / kicker team after the UVa game. Won’t happen again (tic – they are damn good).

I’m waiting for Golden to break free on a KO or punt return. He was a lot more aggressive early when we were down than later. Probably a coaching decision to be more risk adverse when we had a good lead. No reason to give the other team hope!

We're still #19. Good ST and I'm looking forward to the UGAg game where we HAVE to keep UGAg from getting a big KO or punt return. They are #8 based largely on their returns which are 6th and 7th in the nation.

Beat me to it. Now they have a couple others that could hurt us. Butker is gonna need to crush the ball out the back of the endzone constantly. Cant give them any free points.

You have to hate giving up an extra point, most of the game that one point was crucial. Not an excuse, just an FYI: kickers use a slick older ball, longsnappers hate them and as you can tell - holders have to catch them without a good grip. It was chilly and windy- your hands get dry, thus, a slick ball slides thru. Tough break, but I congradualate them on forgetting about it and cashing in for the rest of the game!
