Stop with this garbage. It was 1-to-1, which means that their 1 was better than our 1. If our 1 played their 2 through 16 they probably would have won. Same with ACC2 versus the rest of the SEC, and so on. That 14-2, while impressive, was a mixture of luck and timing. They play the same games at the end of the season and it’s a different story.
Are you saying you think the ACC was as good as the SEC last year? :wideyed:

I hope that was sarcasm. You can’t manipulate 14-2 regardless of how bad you want to believe it was not a true indicator of team in OOC play.

The system that all Conferences agreed to assigns a very high level of reward for early season OOC play. Unless the system changes, and there are no indications it will, then the Conferences that excell in early season OOC games will reap the rewards of their wins.

It’s simple for the ACC, win more OOC games against other Power Conferences. Don’t go 2-14 in the ACC-SEC Challenge.

Listen, if we beat them head-to-head, we'd be thumping our chests. They did and they did. No problem. We don't need to be thumping their chests for them.

However, that was a contrived, made-for-TV challenge, not based on team strength, but on compelling matchups. This challenge was 1 win or 1 loss for each team. It doesn't show conference domination, as some people insinuate.

Thats is total crap and you know it. When 2 conferences play 16 games head-to-head and one conference wins 14 of the games it clearly shows that conference is superior. Duke and Clemson won their games, so the ACC's top 2 teams won. The other 14 lost! Of those 14 losses only 3 were within 10 points. The SEC flat out stomped the ACC in the head-to-head challenge last season. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

But keep on believing the games didn't prove anything! You know better than that. It's fine to despise the SEC for many things. This is one where they earned what they got on the courts!

Wait, is he suggesting that collective whuppin wasn't indicative of anything? Sheesh.

I don't care what the individual matchups were, if one group goes 2-14 vs another, that speaks volumes.

Reading this makes me rethink Gettysburg. Maybe Pickets charge was a Southern victory after all.

The only caveot is that the woopin happened early in the year. They were different teams by the end of the year - both better and worse. But the metrics are/were based on how the year started.
