No, that's not what I said at all... I said the fact that he can't crack the rotation should tell you all you need to know. Unless something happened, he could go.You said yourself that he’s likely to leave at the end of the year because he’s not getting to play a.k.a. lack of opportunity. And, by saying that you’re basically also saying that playing as a freshman is not a rare opportunity, it’s expected these days, or else.
The post stated that he’s getting a rare opportunity. I’m saying what opportunity? He’s not playing, and if he were playing, it wouldn’t be rare.
Now as to why he is not playing that’s another question. Maybe it is that CDS doesn’t see the effort of the desire in practice. If that is the case then yeah that’s on Sutton.
I guess I just didn’t agree with the romantic sentiment of a wonderful and rare opportunity. The kid was recruited on merit to play basketball. He’s supposed to be a good basketball player.
Oh well, nothing really to argue about.
In short, he's not working hard enough or making enough of an impression in practice to earn PT, when half the team was injured (i.e. he wasn't taking advantage of his opportunity).
The ships are too valuable to be occupied by someone not willing to work hard and fall in love with the little things.
