I hope the ACC shows well early. If the SEC wets the bed week one it's just an aberration. If the ACC does, it will define the season for the conference.

I have really tried to ween myself off of sports talk but the other day I broke a long hiatus and heard a talking head on ESPN say that SEC teams play tougher schedules than any other conference because they have to play each other. What!?? It is hard to beat the other teams in your own conference no matter what the conference. That is the nature of college football. Assuming that SEC teams are harder to beat is starting with your conclusion.

I'm pretty sure Cook was a shotgun/pistol option guy at Cal Poly before he came to Tech, so not surprising that he'd go back that direction.

I agree that points scored by offensive drives from punts or kickoffs are going to be low (total of 42 maybe). But points off of turnovers could be high (like 21).

Watching bits of other games brings back how sloppy the first games of the season can be.

Cook's debut was far from spectacular. Auburn is good, though.
