No Aaron Philo tonight. Gonna be King and Pyron - I am guessing this was a mutual decision between Key/Philo to preserve Philo’s redshirt. It does feel a little bit like waving the white flag if I’m being just totally honest, but I also want to keep Philo happy and loyal to the Jackets.

Is this your speculation or confirmed? If confirmed, white flag is an understatement unless King is playing possum and healthy.

I can’t describe how much disappointment I just felt

Without Philo, we’ll be toast. I doubt we’ll score more than 13 points with the other 2 injured QBs

Well this just means we are about to witness the most gimmicky offense we have seen. Probably even more pre-snap motions and trickery. Can't say our chances of keeping it a game into fourth are good

I’m not sure this makes much sense. If the RS for Philo was a concern, why bother using him for NCST? If I were Key and staff, I would feed KQ all disinformation knowing his leaky *** is going to spread it out for everyone to read.

In regards to Tech football, I am from Missouri show me. We played great against #3 and undefeated Miami but that was a different breed of cat.
Miami, for whatever reason, never adjusted to HK not able to pass downfield. NCSU did and we saw the results. If we run HK on first and get stuffed, it immediately puts Philo in a difficult down and distance. If HK still can't pass we are better off with Philo IMO.

Maybe he figured Philo would be more of a help winning the NC State game and securing the 7th win there than against Ugag, which is a bit of a longshot. And he may well have been right - even with Philo's fine performance, Tech only beat the Wolfpack by a whisker.

That having been said, you never know how things will turn out. Pyron's got some hard bark on him, and he's got something to prove. And maybe King's shoulder is better than advertised. Hope the Jackets are up for this one, no matter who takes the snaps.

There’s only two scenarios where no Philo makes sense… either (1) King is 90% healthy (I doubt this) or (2) Key and co. put all their chips in against NC St and are gonna throw in the towel against UGA (I doubt this ten times more).

So my guess is KQ is wrong. I would be delighted to be wrong about (1) and furious to be wrong about (2).

We blew his RS by playing him in the VMI game for just a few plays. Makes no difference now, it is history.

I’ve heard his parents threatened a transfer.

I haven’t heard this rumor am not surprised and I speculated that Philo threatened to transfer if Key burned his redshirt tonight. The relationship might be ruined either way.

Either way between the Batt rumors and this Philo situation, this has been a very bad Thanksgiving weekend for Georgia Tech fans.

We won’t score a single point. Kirby’s not going to be fooled by a gimmick offense. King can’t throw the ball across the line of scrimmage. We are toast
