He did that after what he saw when he played GS. He hated it, and you can tell, he still does. He was complaining this week about having to schedule 4 out of conference games, and this is part of the reason. He knows in conference, he does not face this.

As one who grew up in Charleston back at the dawn of time -- when some fella named Bobby Ross coached El Cid during my high school years -- I've always had a soft spot for The Citadel. So, despite knowing that the Tide would roll over the good Bulldogs eventually, nonetheless it was great fun to see today's halftime score of Alabama 10, The Citadel 10. Citadel lost some heartbreakers this season to good FCS opponents, only had a 4-5 record going into Tuscaloosa. But they run plenty of option, sometimes out of an old-fashioned T formation (but with WRs instead of TEs), and -- mighty 'Bama never faces it. Last time they did a few years ago, Georgia Southern rushed for plenty more yards against 'Bama in one game than seven or more FBS-level opponents COMBINED had, and you've probably seen Saban's commentary about that game.

Nice final words from Sports Illustrated: "The Citadel finishes its season next week against Charleston Southern, and no matter what happens, it’ll be able to boast that in 2018, it put up as many points against Alabama as Ole Miss, Missouri, Mississippi State and LSU combined."

This is why having this offense is so cool. When CNW gets our D in shape, we get to the CFP and face teams that never see it.
