Are you going to give most of your PG min to Jose or Justin. That's an easy answer. So if you want to play him at the 2 who do you play him ahead of - Josh, Tad, Curtis, Brandon? I thought Wright looked the best of the Wright, AD, Cole threesome today, but probably not enough to get the start ahead of AD yet. My thought it you have AD at 5, but the offense is run through one of the 4's - Wright, Cole, Sjolund at the high post. AD has a nice spin move in the paint, he needs to make the shot though.
Was obvious that Ben was not 100% yesterday. Saw this morning the comment from Pastner that he told him to not worry about rebounding to protect the ankle. That helps to explain some of the dreadful rebounding yesterday. Both FR guards looked like their film from last year. Both will have their ups and downs this year, but I like the thought of them as how good they could be as 4-yr players. The 2 FR looked like they were playing with a higher energy level than anyone else on the team today. Team otherwise looked sort of like it was in quicksand. our cuts were not nearly as 'violent' today. NT decided largely not to guard our 4's and pretty much got away with it today. Wright made a couple of nice shots in the 2nd half. Curtis has such a beautiful stoke, it just looks like the ball should go in every time he shoots it. If he starts finishing close to the rim he will really get it going. For the season Jose is 18 Ast 7 TO and Curtis is 12 and 4. They also have a combined 15 steals. Tad looked like he was trying to get the cobwebs off in the first half. I don't see a big role for Justin going forward unless someone gets hurt. Are you going to give most of your PG min to Jose or Justin. That's an easy answer. So if you want to play him at the 2 who do you play him ahead of - Josh, Tad, Curtis, Brandon? Curtis and Brandon both showed they could handle significant pressure last game and both are better offensive players. All of them shoot FT's better than Justin. It's hard to see more than 6-8 min per game as PG relief for Jose for Justin. FWIW, I see AD as the starting 5 next season assuming he is here. He is almost as big as Lammers and has a longer reach. He missed his shots today, but they didn't look like bricks, he just didn't make them - a problem the whole team other than Jose had in the first half. Has missed it the past 2 games. FT shooting was much better today. Also, great job with the ballhandling today. 16 assists (on 23 made baskets) and only 6 TO. Jose and Curtis were both 4:1 and Alston was 2:1. Was interesting to see the team come out in m-t-m the first 4 min or so before switching to zone. Good to get the win and move on.
