It wasn't even close but Justin was still "Smoove" as the players said back in the day.Justin lost that race iirc.

Actually it was very close for 40 yards, then Snoddy just walked away from JT. Both fast men, and JT could make cuts at high speed that most cannot do.It wasn't even close but Justin was still "Smoove" as the players said back in the day.
Agree that Justin was quicker on the takeoff and just as fast for 40. Rarely does a football player get to run 100 yards on a play.Actually it was very close for 40 yards, then Snoddy just walked away from JT. Both fast men, and JT could make cuts at high speed that most cannot do.
His speed reminds me of Broderick Snoddy. He set the GT record for indoor track 60m and ran the 100m in the 10.4 range. I remember him getting around the corner as an AB and he was able to get serious yardage fast. Agree with comments above that he will need to develop his footwork and his quickness/burst is also important because the defense rarely gives you an unimpeded lane to run in.
A healthy Jonathan Dwyer in the open field is still the most impressive GT RB in the open field for me. He was also a track athlete in HS. He had that sprinters ability to make it look effortless passing by defenders. Dwyer could erase angles on the edge (saw it a LOT with the speed option and BB toss), but it was his ability in the open field 20-30 yards pas the LOS that made him special when he was in his prime. His fastest time in the 100m was 10.89 in HS.
Made me think of this old article for comparisonWe're getting a burner...
"According to Mile Split Georgia, an online track and field platform, Singleton’s best in the 100 dropped from 10.68 (wind-aided) seconds to 10.32 this season at Alexander’s region meet. He lowered his top 200 time from 21.91 as a junior to 20.72 this year. His 400 best fell from 49.01 last year to 46.21 this year."
Georgia Tech signee Eric Singleton achieving greatness on track
'He could end up being the fastest combination of 100, 200, 400 sprinter in Georgia history after this weekend, potentially.'www.ajc.com
Angelo tried playing football at GT, but it didn't work out for him. He made the right choice. The combined 100m, 200m, 400m time is what’s most impressive to me, especially the 400m. Reminds me of GT’s own Angelo Taylor, 3 time Olympic gold medalist and 3 time world champion in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. Not a football player, but a bad dude on the track. I ran against (behind) him in high school and with him at GT ( I was a scrub walk on for one season, while he was the star of the team).
Taylor’s best times were 10.58, 20.23, and 44.05 (according to Wikipedia), but these all came after he was a professional, not in high school.
