JACKETS!!!!!!!Go Jackets !!! Biggest home game in over a decade time to punch our ticket to Charlotte ! Let’s go !!!
YELLOW!!!!!!!!!
I’ll be in W21 as well. Message me your location and we’ll get together.Brothers and sisters it is Gameday!
This is what you have been waiting for; a warm late fall day, a night game, at home, with conference championship & playoff implications and your Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lead by none other than The King.
Friends this is what CFB is all about.
Chores? Those leaves are still wet from the overnight rain. Youth sports? Come on man, it's almost Thanksgiving. No, today is all football all the time. The ACC huddle is in town and on the Tech Tower lawn. HPB starts at 3 with your '80s favs. Tailgates will be everywhere. But tickets are scarce. Shoot, it would be worth going down to campus even if you had to watch a TV in the parking lot. It's Gameday and everything is on the line. Campus will be like Quarter Beer Night at Grumpy's back in the day; a non-stop party and you if you play it right you don't even have to have any money. I'll be in W21 with a beer for you if you need one.
So get up and get your gold on. Pack up your cooler and get down to campus. Bask in the glory of a Saturday Down South. Get ready to cheer the Brave and Bold get their next victory. IT'S GAMEDAY.
No tickets? E$PN has got this one and all the fuss is over so if you are paying someone for your TV the game is yours, or $80K and go to a bar. Got tix? Get into Grant Field by 6:30 as it is Senior Night and appreciation must be shown.
Toe meets leather at 7PM.
GO JACKETS!
GIVE 'EM HELL TECH!
BUST THEIR A$$!
STING 'EM!
You can’t drink all day if you don’t start when you wake up.JACKETS!
Beer at 10 AM? Why wait that long - did you never enjoy a Breakfast of Champions at sunrise?
Penny beer at Jerry’s.Well said!!!
I guess this is inflation at a practical level. A decade earlier it was dime beer night at MJ Pippin’s. Ha!
I blew a midterm in that joint once on dime beer night. But here it is almost 50 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday. Maybe that’s because all of us there got to see Mr. October become Mr. October. The date? Tuesday, October 18, 1977.
What a way to enjoy a sporting event! Do what Clyde Bricks suggests… you may end up, decades later, regaling GT folks on a sports forum of what you did before GT beat Pitt and clinched a berth in the ACCCG… the year we won our last national championship!
GO JACKETS!!!
I played in a Dixieland band at Six Flags in 1975. Cool story?I worked at Six Flags back in the'70's (when it was a fun place to work), and a lot of the crews showed up Thursday morning barely able to function thanks to the Mad Hatter. The legal drinking age was 18 back then. I thought it was a nickel for the beer, but I may be misremembering because of the dead brain cells from the MH days.
GO JACKETS!
Great article by Ken, with John and Jodie King.![]()
‘Stats are for losers’: Haynes King’s parents are a lot like Haynes King

One-eyed Jack’s was the spot.So Pippin’s, One-Eyed Jack’s, Manuel’s, and Moe’s & Joe’s were the tavern of choice back in the day. Manuel’s was the swanky joint. You had to wear your clean jeans there.![]()
Little known fact. One of the owners was also a colleague of my dad’s at his surveying business for a while. His name is Blake Van Leer.One-eyed Jack’s was the spot.
Bingo....I recall the stacks of empty cups....crazyOne-eyed Jack’s was the spot.
Life is hard for LxUN ... and he got the shade of gold right.Primetime means another pre-game workout!
I used to eat at Perot’s Pizza while a student. Also Junior’s Grill. So Pippin’s, One-Eyed Jack’s, Manuel’s, and Moe’s & Joe’s were the tavern of choice back in the day. Manuel’s was the swanky joint. You had to wear your clean jeans there.
All great places to go before or after a game.
