I am surprised there has not been more talk about FSU's game against the Citadel earlier this year. They intentionally scheduled them to keep familiar with our offense. I am not one of the resident experts on this board, but my understanding is that the Citadel offense is a fair bit like ours (at least a lot more than the Auburn type option offenses).
On its face, the game this year looks like a complete blowout and does not bode well for us. Under the surface though, I am not sure that is entirely true. While the Citadel lost 37-12 and failed to score until the 4th quarter, they still managed to rack up 322 total yards, were 11-17 on third down, and won the time of possession 33:35 to 26:25. So, it does sound like they were able to move the ball, even if they weren't able to score points. BOX SCORE
