Buursema is on the same trajectory as Tate. He's a 4-5 inning guy, next year he's a 6-7 inning Friday anchor.
Both Ramsey and Lachey said they thought he had the “best stuff in College baseball” last night.

Edit: After Lachey said that in his post game interview with the ACCN, Danny Graves said something like, “Man, having that support from your catcher is huge! That makes me want to get out there and pitch again!” It was pretty cool, there’s a team/family vibe this group is giving off that is infectious.

Yeah, he's got great stuff. Notice a lot of check swing K's from the opponents. Just has to work some on the control, but overall doing great.

I was real happy for Alex tonight, He has been struggling but answered tonight. He will be fine. Not everybody is "on" at the same time.
Variance! Seriously though, when one guy is going through a rough spot we’ve had others that pick them up. Obviously we weren’t going to have everyone keep hitting .500 as we started facing better pitching, but we also haven’t had 3 guys slump at the same time either. It’s nice when anyone in the lineup can deliver a clutch hit, no?

When Danny was in the TV booth for an inning, he gave Key credit for engaging Tech students in supporting athletics. I agree but would go a step further and acknowledge that this all started when Pres Cabrera stepped in and said Tech needs to demand the same level of excellence for athletics that it does for academics.

^^^^^ This
We won Thursday night with all our scoring offense (runs & rbi's) coming from our 6-9 batters, plus one rbi from Burress's blooper single..

When I was a kid, my favorite team was the Reds, aka the Big Red Machine. Maybe the best hitting lineup of all time ( or at least my lifetime).Relentless pressure on other teams as they never got to an easy inning. This team is reminiscent of the BRM in this regard.

As expected this series is getting massive attention on D1 baseball, lead item by Aaron Fitt on yesterday's Friday game. He has loved us for over a decade, through bad times and good. This is what he posted along with the pitching stats.

We were sitting on the front row of GA in section 2 and during that play CJR was absolutely pumped and imploring the crowd to go nuts. We obliged. Best environment I've seen at the Rusty C in 20 years of attending games there.

In the past, we would have to play our best and hope to win against a top five team. This team, coaches , fans, and players know how good they are.

Fsu hoped to win the series. Tech now expects to win this series as they clearly did.

Their pitching is definitely elite but also rattled by the crowd and the best offense in the land.

What makes this team truly different than tech offensive teams of the past is pitching as a whole.

During this 11 game winning streak to include (Pitt, Nc State, Auburn, KSU, and FSU), the pitching has posted a sub 3 era. CJR on his post game presser stated that it's time to put this tech pitching myth to bed as these are premium, high leverage, and elite level omaha arms.

The confidence is brimming and it's justified

Porter may actually have the best stuff of the staff. When that kid harnesses control and gains complete confidence....look out.

TIckets were super pricey but I decided to suck it up butter cup and attend games 1 & 2. Just simply can't afford today but I'm so glad I went as the chain had a blast :)

Stadium was electric. Players fed off it. Coaches noticed it.

Bought my tickets for Wake Forest before stub hub gets a hold of them. Can't even imagine what regional tix will be like.

We are now 3 games clear of uncheat in the league (Thanks Clem's Son) and 4 1/2 games up on FSU and own the tie breaker.

I'll make a bold statement but with Ucla's weak big integer schedule and tx losing to Texas ATM if tech sweeps the noles, we definitely should be #1

Mutts lost to the gates. Knew they were over rated. Braves and Hawks won.

Great night for this fsu alum :) Go Jackets!

Tech's rpi now sits at 4

This team has that killer instinct. I feel they have taken the heart of the noles. Take an early lead and I don't think they recover.

I'll bet CJR continuously says the same thing. 😁
I worked for fsu productions during my time there and I got to meet him.

My dad was a 68 ee Tech major and had me pegged my whole life for Tech and when I chose fsu, my dad asked "Son, why?"

I told him...Pops, I love you and Tech however, I'm not an engineer or an architect and I'd actually like to date a girl". My dad laughed but was still pissed but finally said "Go on kid". Fyi- married a pretty belle from Tally :) and even though it didn't work out...Tally is a talent rich and fun environment

Had a great time but my whole 3 years in tally, I wore my tech gear everywhere. I even interned for WCTV and worked for fsu baseball and football, still had all my gear on for the Jackets! Both Bobby and Martin notated my tech gear. :)

Tech has and always be my home.
Dad once asked me ...who do you despise more ..the gators or dwags....My response and answer....Dad, What's the GOOD WORD!

So this series is extra special for me

Cabrera is the one who deserves the credit for believing in, an then demanding, a standard of athletic excellence on par with our academic excellence. Let's hope basketball can turn it around.

I joined you a week or two ago, more people need to be on this bandwagon. Good pitching to go along with our offense? First time I've ever seen it.

We can beat you in a multitude of ways. Who would have guessed FSU would have more HRs than us this series (4-1) and yet we just grind high level at bats every inning. This is the under appreciated part of how developed these kids are. We could never really get to Mendes in game one but we forced him to throw 114 pitches in 6 and 1/3 innings. We are still only getting better and I do not believe we are close to peaking.

9th week I will be beating this horse.

Best team in the country and best Tech team we have ever had.
Most talented
Most confident
Best pitching staff up and down the roster
Passionate
Great team chemistry

Getting to Omaha isn't easy even for the great teams but this team is just flat built different.

Best tech team I've seen in my life time and I was there watching the 94 team.

The announcers on TV have been talking about the patience and approach of our batters a lot. It’s been a well-commentated series so far.

Edit: they mentioned how everyone has been talking about FSU, UNC and BC’s pitching staffs, but after seeing our guys in person they are sold. Had an interesting graphic about ACC ofgense and defense rank of the ACC teams that went to Omaha to show that Link Jarrett led ND to Omaha with #1 pitching and #8(?) hitting. To make the case they can get there even without elite hitting. But also shows how important pitching is.
