The J is short for Jason. He's been called Jay, shortened to J, since he was a child.

Ah...I heard it was "just J" and thought maybe this was like BJ Honeycutt (from M*A*S*H).

Or Harry S Truman from...that same time. Those were the war years, and everything was rationed. To save ink, newspapers didn't print periods after initials.

I turned autocorrect and autocomplete off on my phone. Takes longer to type messages/posts/etc. but I've not had any problems like autocorrect changing invest to incest.
