I am surprised that the ratio of Georgia students to all others is that high. It seems that there are more students at Tech now than there were a generation ago but I would not have figures off the top of my head. When I was a young boy going to the games with my parents in the early and mid 1960s there were probably about 6,000 or so students at Tech but Grant Field was just about always a sell out at 59,000 and it was really loud. Back then, if you wanted to watch big time college football you pretty much had to go to the game and tickets for big games were hard to come by. If Tech was playing Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, UGA, or Alabama you could just about forget it. There was usually only one or two games on a week. Always big games but still only one or two and that was it. My dad was always in a hurry to get home after the Tech game to watch the "Game of the Week" as it was called. Now Tech alumni all over the country can watch their team in any number of ways. Amazing.
