In 2009, an up and coming GT team was smacked down in the Orange Bowl by Iowa's NFL ready defense and freakishly dominant DE. If Stanzi hadn't spotted us with a pick-6, it would have been even worse. That was a really tough game to attend and miserable cold for Miami. Bad memories all around.
In 2014, an up and coming MSU team was smacked down in the Orange Bowl by GT's "complete team" approach and freakishly dominant offense. The 2009 mishap has been atoned for, and the future is very bright.
I must admit that I get some pleasure in watching the suffering of others, considering how fractured the GT football family was between 2010 and 2013. I get even more pleasure in seeing that it's Iowa, remembering how a few of their fans were just plain rude to me in the 2009 Orange Bowl by my mere presence on "their side" of the stadium.
